Ma terre première (My first earth) - To build the future

From 23rd February to 17th July 2016 at Musée des Confluences

A simple speck of soil, when combined with others, creates the largest buildings.

We invite you to solve, experience and study this mystery during an interactive  exhibition  during which you can handle and observe earth close at hand.

Raw earth, that universal building material used since the beginning of construction to the present day, offers a wide range of possibilities and several prospects for the future.

A sensory, scientific and humane approach to a timeless and precious material.

Admission to the museum and the exhibition is included in the Lyon City Card

Around the exhibition

  • Late night opening on Thursday
  • "Les piliers de la terre"" (“The Pillars of the Earth”), an installation to be seen on the Museum's forecourt from 2nd to 7th April 2016

This exhibition is part of Lyon 2016, capital of the earth.
