Lyon 2017 World Bridge Championships

From the 12th to the 26th of August 2017, at Lyon's Cité Internationale Convention Centre.

This summer, Lyon will become the world capital of bridge!

The city has been selected to host the 43rd World Team Championships and the 1st International of France Open this summer. More than 2000 participants from all horizons are expected, representing 50 countries.

The event is being organised by the French Bridge Federation and the WBF.

Beyond the competition, it is an event open to all, including professionals, amateurs and beginners. In short, it will be a huge celebration of bridge!

The ultimate cerebral sport, successive bridge competitions will include:

  • World Team Championships (Open series: Bermuda Bowl)
  • World Team Championships (Women series: Venice Cup)
  • World Team Championships (D'Orsi Senior Trophy)
  • A transnational championship 
  • Juniors, Girls, Under 20s, Under 16s
  • The 1st International of France 
  • The Grand Prix of Lyon

From the 13th to the 26th of August, between 11 am and 6 pm, the French Bridge Federation is offering the chance to try out this mind sport with a free initiation session. Head for the Terreaux Reception Area at Cité Internationale.
