The Fan Zone

Get the most out of the Euro by visiting the Fan Zone at Place Bellecour, from 10th June to 10th July 2016

The Fan Zone is a fun and lively place for fans to get together in a secure environment, open on match days throughout the competition to supporters and visitors of all ages.

All 51 Euro matches will be shown on the big screen located on the eastern side of the square (with another screen set up behind the statue of Louis XIV to ensure everyone gets a great view).
In the first round, you will be able to watch up to three matches broadcast at 3pm, 6pm and 9pm. Further on in the competition, there will be two matches followed by one match during the knock-out stage.

The Fan Zone is divided into three main areas with free access between them:

  • East side: the 'Pure Fan' zone is located right next to the big screen and opens an hour and a half before kick-off, closing an hour after the end of the match. It is open from noon to 11.45pm during the first round.
  • West side: the 'Eat & Play!' zone is an area for eating and relaxing, open from noon to midnight every match day (23 days).
  • A great place to get together, recover from all the excitement of the game and chat with other fans.
  • The Village: houses the VIP section, hospitality stands, media centre, 'Fan Embassy' areas and information kiosks.

There is a whole range of free games and activities for the general public to enjoy between matches, maintaining the Fanzone's fun, party atmosphere throughout the whole of this exciting Euro tournament.

The Fan Zone is perfect for fans who missed out on tickets for the Parc Olympique Lyonnais as well as for any visitors, be they on their own or with friends and family.

Practical info

Entry to the Fan Zone and entertainment is free

There is a storage facility for large luggage and bags (which are not permitted within the Fan Zone).

The Préfecture du Rhône has worked hard to ensure a very high level of security, with every possible measure taken to ensure you can relax and enjoy your time at the Fan Zone.

To make it easier for visitors to get around on foot on match days, certain bus stops have been moved, access to the Bellecour underground station has been altered, and certain adjacent streets have been temporarily pedestrianised. Finally, the Bellecour underground car park will be closed during the Euro (please make other arrangements if you are coming into the city centre by car).

Security checks are in operation at the entrances to the Fan Zone.
